Modern architecture in India are the following –

  1. Lotus Temple, New Delhi

The Lotus Temple, designed by the Iranian-American architect Fariborz Sahba, is located in New Delhi and is a Bahá’í House of Worship that was completed in 1986. The building stands out for its flower shape and serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian. Subcontinent. The building is comprised of 27 separate marble-clad “petals” arranged in groups of three to form nine sides, with nine doors opening to a central hallway of just over 40 meters and a capacity of 2,500 people. The surface of this is made of white marble. It has nine ponds and surrounding gardens, with total property of 26 acres.

  1. Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Jawahar Kala Kendra is a Modern architecture in India center located in Jaipur and designed by award-winning Indian architect Charles Correa in 1986. The building was completed in 1991 and commissioned by the Rajasthan government for the purpose of preserving Rajasthani arts and crafts. The center is made up of eight blocks that house museums, an amphitheater, an auditorium, a library, art rooms, a cafeteria, a small hostel, and an art studio. It also includes two permanent art galleries. The architectural plan is inspired by the original Jaipur city plan, which consists of nine squares with an open central plaza. Apply concepts from ancient architectural principles called Vastu Vidya.

  1. The British Council, Delhi

Also designed by Charles Correa, the British Council building in Delhi expresses the three basic cultural identities that have shaped contemporary India. To represent this, Correa created a series of three courtyards that symbolize the three focal points that represent the world center of Hindu, Muslim and European cultures. The main facade represents a Howard Hodgkins mural, made of white makrana marble and black cuddapah stone.

  1. The lightbox bathroom, Mumbai

This Modern architecture in India designed by Indian architect Rohan Chavan, which is a women’s bathroom containing toilet blocks, in addition to acting as a typical social space for women to interact. The design has been conceptualized around a tree to integrate nature and the built environment, as well as a means of protection against the warmer climate in India, with a transparent cover that protects the structure from rain. The structure is made up of four blocks, one end containing two bathrooms with a common sink and the other end having a nursing room and a bathroom for the disabled, as well as one for the elderly. The center of the bath is a garden that is used for various activities, such as relaxation, a free gallery to display art for amateur artists, a place for conferences and awareness campaigns, festival celebrations, seasonal activities, and events.
